Mida Thermo Stone
Insulated • Natural Stone Appearance • Mechanically Mounted Façade System
A next-generation façade solution that combines the prestige of natural stone, high thermal insulation, and practical installation in a single product: Mida Thermo Stone. A 10 mm thick, hard, natural stone-look surface layer is applied over a 5–10 cm thick EPS/XPS foam or rock wool board, following the Hybrid Stone Texture formulation. This provides both realistic stone aesthetics and powerful thermal insulation in a single panel.
Installation is carried out entirely using a mechanical method. The panels are directly fixed to the wall with screws and anchors. There is no need for adhesive curing time, mortar application, or heavy scaffolding systems. This enables fast, clean, and secure installation.
Why Is a New Approach Needed in Façade Systems?
In today’s construction industry, façade selection is no longer merely an aesthetic choice; it is also a strategic decision in terms of energy efficiency, installation speed, and long-term cost management. Energy performance certificate requirements, rising fuel and electricity costs, sustainable building standards, and changing customer expectations make it essential for façade materials to deliver versatile performance.
In traditional solutions, aesthetics and performance are generally considered separately: natural stone cladding is visually impressive but does not provide thermal insulation; insulation systems provide thermal performance but cannot reproduce the warmth and prestige of natural stone texture. Mida Thermo Stone combines these two worlds in a single panel, providing the comprehensive solution required by both architects and investors.
Basic Structure of the Product
- Core (Insulation Layer): 5–10 cm EPS/XPS foam or rock wool
- Surface Layer: 10 mm thick hard layer formulated with Hybrid Stone Texture
- Appearance: High resemblance to natural stone, realistic texture and color depth
- Installation: Mechanical fixing with screws + anchors
Thanks to this structure, the panel is both lightweight and provides high insulation performance. While reducing heat loss on exterior façades, it gives the building the prestige of natural stone. The layered structure is designed to combine the panel’s mechanical strength and thermal performance in a balanced manner; the insulation core minimizes thermal bridges, while the hard surface layer acts as a protective shield against external conditions.
The rock wool core version can optionally be preferred for projects requiring both thermal insulation and high fire performance. The EPS/XPS core version, meanwhile, stands out with its lighter structure and cost advantage. Selecting the appropriate core material according to project requirements ensures an optimum result in terms of both performance and budget.
Key Advantages
- Natural stone appearance + thermal insulation in one system
- High energy efficiency with 5–10 cm insulation thickness
- Impact and weather resistant thanks to the 10 mm hard hybrid stone surface
- Fast mechanical installation with screws and anchors
- Adds minimal additional load to the structure
- Suitable for both new buildings and renovation projects
- Fire performance (higher when rock wool is selected)
- Surface resistant to UV, freeze-thaw cycles, and outdoor weather conditions
- Compatible with architectural projects through various texture and color options
- Can be installed regardless of seasonal conditions thanks to the dry installation method
- Accelerates project completion by reducing scaffolding time
Technical Performance and Quality Approach
Mida Thermo Stone is not merely a visual cladding material; it is also a building component that directly contributes to the energy performance of the building. The thickness of the insulation core can be selected between 5 and 10 cm according to project requirements; this flexibility allows suitable solutions for different climate zones and energy efficiency targets. The 10 mm thick hybrid stone surface is formulated to provide both impact resistance and visual depth similar to natural stone. The textures and color transitions on the surface are inspired by real stone quarries and are available in a variety of options adaptable to different building types and architectural styles.
The mechanical installation system allows the panel to be directly fixed to the wall with screws and anchors, providing a fast installation process without waiting for adhesive curing time. This contributes to predictable project scheduling, particularly in projects with tight deadlines.
Difference from Natural Stone and Conventional Insulation Systems
- Conventional natural stone cladding is heavy, does not provide insulation, and is difficult to install.
- Conventional external insulation systems provide thermal insulation but do not offer the aesthetics of natural stone. Mida Thermo Stone meets both needs:
- From the outside, it creates the appearance of a natural stone wall.
- From the inside, it provides significant thermal insulation.
- Mechanical installation shortens the installation time.
Applications
- Exterior Façade Insulation + Cladding: Ideal for villas, residential buildings, hotels, offices, and commercial buildings where both aesthetics and energy efficiency are required.
- Renovation and Refurbishment Projects: Enables fast façade renovation while minimizing additional loads on existing buildings.
- Buildings Requiring High Insulation Performance: Suitable for cold climate regions or projects targeting high energy performance certification standards.
- Rock Wool Version: The rock wool core model is recommended for buildings where fire safety is a priority.
- Public and Institutional Buildings: Can be used in projects such as schools, hospitals, and business centers where both aesthetic and technical performance are expected.
- Mixed-Use Projects: Creates a consistent façade identity in mixed-use developments combining residential, commercial, and office spaces.
Installation Process
The installation of Mida Thermo Stone can be completed much faster than conventional natural stone cladding or wet-applied external insulation systems. Since the panel surfaces are factory-prepared, only measurement, cutting, and mechanical fixing are carried out on site.
- Cleaning the wall surface and determining the installation line.
- Cutting the panels according to the project dimensions.
- Mechanically fixing the panels directly to the wall using screws and anchors.
- Completing panel joints and detail points (corners, window edges, parapets).
- Carrying out the final inspection and surface cleaning.
- Compared with systems requiring mortar curing or adhesive waiting times, this process significantly shortens the project schedule and simplifies site organization.
